Our 1:1 Journey: The Twitter Revolution

Even before our 1:1 digital technology rollout, many staff and departments at St. Joseph’s RC High School were actively embracing Twitter as a tool to communicate with the world beyond their classrooms.

Twitter is a social network created in California, USA in 2006. It enables users to send an receive short messages of no more than 140 characters called Tweets. It has often been used as a method of sharing experiences in school or whilst on trips and to interact with students or other members of staff.

If you are new to Twitter or haven’t created an account yet, you can do so here. Twitter have also created a helpful Getting started with Twitter page, which addresses many frequently asked questions and outlines the basics needed to get started. Finally, Twitter have also created a free official iOS and Android app so you can Tweet direct from your device.

A full list of St. Joseph’s staff and departmental Twitter accounts has been complied by us here and is being constantly updated as more and more staff join the revolution. In addition, we have created a Twitter list containing all of our Digital Leaders @ SJHS accounts which can be found here.
